"How did you start making beads."

I am happiest when I am creating something.  Even as a child I loved art, color, form - anything to do with transforming an element into a form of pleasure for the senses.  I made quilts and worked with stained glass for many years.

One day, while in the stained glass supplies store, I saw a book on the counter, "Making Glass Beads," by Cindy Jenkins.  The book was full of pictures of beautiful glass beads and how to make them!  I walked out of the store that day with Cindy's book -  I've been making beads ever since.....

Now I have a studio in our home.  I love this art form, I love glass - always something new to learn or try, new people to meet, places to go, events to attend.

Creating something that brings joy to the bearer  is so completely gratifying  - who could ask for more?

Better get back to my torch!

The Studio - Blah, blah, blah, blah.  Better get it cleaned up so I can shoot pix. (insert picture here)

bulletResident Bead Inspector - Max - (aka "The ten-pound bed-bug")  Max has been inspecting beads for quite awhile now.  He will,  on occasion, pick one out of the bowl and toss it into an outgoing shipment - his taste in beadwork is impeccable.  He is also widely known for his escapades with chickens and his ability to "disguise" himself in order to get my attention.  (Or secretly master-minding the hold-up of the local 7-Eleven!)
